Faculty of Science, PSU Participates in the 14th IMT-GT Uninet Bioscience 2025

The Faculty of Science, Prince of Songkla University (PSU), has actively participated in the 14th IMT-GT Uninet Bioscience 2025 conference, held on February 7-8, 2023, at the Mercure Penang Beach Hotel, Universiti Sains Malaysia. This international conference, themed “Innovating a Sustainable Future: Advancing Biodiversity, Science, and Education,” provided a platform for researchers, academics, and students to exchange knowledge and foster collaborations in the field of biosciences.

Assoc. Prof. Dr.Pimonsri Mittraparp-Arthorn, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and International Relations of the Faculty of Science, PSU, was invited as a keynote speaker, delivering a presentation titled “Climate Change and Marine Pathogens: Challenges for Aquatic Food Safety.” Her talk highlighted the urgent need for interdisciplinary research to address the growing threats posed by climate change to marine ecosystems and food security.

PSU students and faculty members actively participated in the conference, presenting their research findings and showcasing the university’s commitment to advancing bioscience research. Notably, Ms. Savin Kin, a doctoral student in Biology, was awarded the Best Oral Presentation, underscoring the high quality of research conducted at PSU.

In conjunction with the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr.Pimonsri Mittraparp visited the Centre for Marine and Coastal Studies (CEMACS) at Universiti Sains Malaysia. CEMACS is a leading research center focused on marine biodiversity, coastal ecosystem conservation, aquaculture, and coastal ecology. During the visit, PSU and CEMACS discussed potential collaborations, including student exchange programs and joint research projects.
