4 March 2026 Prince of Songkla University celebrated the achievement of several academic programs that successfully passed the ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) certification. Among the recognized programs was the Master of Science in Microbiology from the Faculty of Science.

The certificate was formally presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Kaewpradub, President of PSU, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Karanrat Soonthornpun, Vice President for Quality Development and Risk Management. The award was received by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Natthawan Sermwittayawong, Chairperson of the Microbiology Graduate Program, together with colleagues from the program.

The event was also attended by members of the Faculty of Science administration, led by Prof. Dr. Anchana Prathep, Dean of the Faculty of Science, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pimonsri Mittraparp-arthorn, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Education, and International Relations.

The program was officially accredited on 22 December 2025, reflecting the high quality of its teaching, research, and curriculum standards in alignment with the AUN-QA regional framework.

This achievement marks another important milestone for the Faculty of Science, PSU, in advancing educational standards toward international excellence. It reaffirms the Faculty’s commitment to developing high-quality academic programs that prepare graduates with strong academic and research capabilities, enabling them to compete on the global stage. The program also continues to contribute to the advancement of microbiological knowledge for the benefit of society and sustainable development.
